This Social Media Policy refers to the use of private and business-oriented social networking websites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram,Google+, MySpace, etc.), and all other Internet postings including, but not limited to, blogs, NGO (non-governmental organization) and community forums. All of these activities are referred to as "Internet postings" in this Policy.

The policy applies to all Borealis Shipping A.S (hereinafter called “the Company”) employees who make use of social media, whether or not they are gaining access to it via company equipment / networks and whether or not they are using it during working hours.

Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. 
All office and sea staff of the Company are legally responsible for their postings, therefore they may be subject to liability if posts are found defamatory, harassing, or in violation of any other applicable law.

They shall also be liable if they make postings that include confidential or copyrighted information belonging to third parties.
